Bea in Marie Claire

I was featured in Marie Claire Magazine this month. The lovely Marie Claire ladies took some snaps of me in my Garden and flat and chatted to me about all things style over a cup of tea or three.

To celebrate we have cut out our first new baby cut-out.

New commemorative cut-outs

We have been busy working on a few new cut-outs recently...

The first a new theme for us- a leaving present.
A very personal cut-out, with lots of entertaining elements in it, decided upon by the client. We loved making this cut-out, It was great to work on a new theme and create some mad ideas from design to cut.

The second, a birthday present. Cut on brown/grey textured paper mounted on white card and framed.
We got a real chance to experiment with texture and the size of the cut elements in this particular cut-out.

Company Magazine

Us she-me girls were in company magazine last month. Along with our dad we got all dressed up and had a good old natter about growing up with a father in fashion, our she-me work and family life.
We had so much fun on the shoot, laughing and joking around.

Hen do

We've just got back from my most amazing hen do in Mallorca. My mum and sister went to so much effort to make it everything I had dreamed of and more. The house looked beautiful and we even had a bell tent to accommodate the gaggle of girls.
It was heaven being there with all my favourite ladies.
Just had to share the photographs. We had a fabulous time.
Thank you Bea!

Love is in the air..

..and the wedding season has definitely begun.

We have had several commemorative wedding artworks to cut out this month. One of our clients very kindly let us share their cut-out with you all. We loved designing and creating this one. An A4 sized cut-out on our favourite colour choice - mint.

Hearing the romantic stories that each newly wed couple share and getting to design and then cut that story into paper, is truly uplifting and makes us feel all warm and fuzzy.

If you would like us to produce a cut-out for you, please go to www.she-me.com for more information

Queenie

Just had to post this - we've seen alot of Jubliee themed shop windows in London recently but we especially like this one at McQueens flower shop. The Queen's head is made entirely from flowers.

Queen's Diamond Jubilee - Thames Flotilla

The Queen's diamond jubilee river pageant completed a tour of the River Thames with a 1,000-strong flotilla passing under Tower Bridge.
We made ourselves a picnic and headed down to the Chelsea embankment and luckily mangaged to get close to the river and set ourselves up near one of the big screens to watch the proceedings.
Thousands of people cheered on the flotilla from the bridges and embankments of the River Thames as it made its way from Chelsea to Tower Bridge. There were people sitting on telephone boxes, up trees and ladders and balconies overlooking the river were heaving with people.
We even got to see the boats before it started to rain.

Field Day

We took a break from cutting and creating during the royal jubilee holiday and took ourselves down to Field Day.
She-me girls love a festival and this always means the start of summer for us. The rain held off for the day, we got to see some great bands and found ourselves in a hay fight too.

Let the celebrations begin!

It's a big one for London this weekend! And we are getting in the festive royal spirit..

Clerkenwell Design Week 2012

Clerkenwell Design Week

Its that time of year again when Clerkenwell comes alive, bustling with designers and spectators. We managed to find time to pop out of the office and have a look around. We were so lucky the sun came out too!

House of Detention  - the converted vaults of a Victorian prison, is once again home to upcoming design talent from the UK and around the world.
Our favourites include the insect-shaped ceiling lights in porcelain and plastic that respond to movement. Designed by Jolana Vodicka Sornerova as part of The Czech Centre, showcasing a selection of upcoming talents from the republic. Her ‘Lightning Fireflies’ open up from a cocoon and stretch out their wings when they detect movement. The colour of their light changes according to the height of the person below. Also the ‘Greenhouse’ lamp for growing herbs by Kristyna Pojerova both of which one awards for excellent Student design.

Outside we visited pop up theatre shows and street installations.
A surreal pink and red umbrella forest grew up from the gardens of Saint James Church and a solar panel tree in the square which "reinterpreted the morphology of the tree and introduced the sensuality of the natural world into the urban context".

The Farmiloe building once again housed an erray of furniture designers and their products, installations and shops. We also couldn't resist a gin and tonic at the end of the day in the pop up gin bar on the top floor. Yum!
